On Thursday night, Ole Miss will hit the road to take on No. 1 Arkansas in Fayetteville for an SEC matchup. The Rebels come into this week’s conference series with a spot in fifth place in the SEC West standings as they are currently 18-12 overall and 3-6 against conference opponents. The team has dropped four games in a row with the most recent being a 9-4 loss to Memphis in a non-conference game on Tuesday. Ethan Lege led the offensive efforts for the Rebels with a 3-for-5 performance at the plate. Two of Lege’s hits were doubles that produced two of the teams runs. Mitch Murrell moved to 2-1 on the season after being credited with the loss on the mound after pitching two innings and giving up one earned run.

The Razorbacks bring a five game win streak into their series with the Rebels and are currently leading the SEC West with a conference record of 8-1 and 24-3 overall. On Tuesday, the team run-ruled Arkansas State in seven innings with a big 13-0 shutout at home. Nolan Souza went 2-for-4 at the plate with four RBI while Ben McLaughlin went 3-for-4 with three RBI in the win. Colin Fisher got the win on the mound with just two innings of work in which he struck out one batter.
When Arkansas and Ole Miss met last season, the Razorbacks took two of the three games to earn the series victory in Oxford.
