The college football regular season has three weeks left and there is still a lot on the line as the top five teams in the latest college football playoff ranking are all undefeated with a handful of teams lurking with just one loss.
This week is loaded with a bunch of great games and is highlighted by two top-10 matchups. No. 3 Michigan will take on No. 10 Penn State, while No. 3 Georgia will play No. 9 Ole Miss. Out west, USC heads to No. 6 Oregon and No. 18 Utah takes on No. 5 Washington.
There could be a lot of shakeup after Saturday, but first, we take a look at our latest college football playoff projections.

Top Four
Georgia Bulldogs
The Bulldogs are still at No. 2 in the college football playoff rankings, but we have them as the top team in ours. The Bulldogs stayed undefeated as they fended off a very good Missouri team last weekend. It wasn’t easy, but they got the win. It doesn’t get any easier as they take on an Ole Miss team that has just one loss and has proven it can score points. If they get a convincing win on Saturday they could move up to the top spot in the actual rankings
Michigan Wolverines
The Wolverines shook off some rust and the outside noise to beat Purdue on Saturday night 41-13. They looked a little shaky in the second quarter but still had little trouble beating the Boilermakers. The Wolverines get their first test of the year on Saturday as they head to Happy Valley to take on Penn State. They can make a statement with a big win on the road.
Washington Huskies
The Huskies passed another test as they won a shootout against USC on Saturday night. They gave up a lot of points, but couldn’t be stopped in the 10-point win. They get another big test on Saturday when they take on two-time defending Pac-12 champion Utah on Saturday. Win that easily and they may jump into the top four in the CFP rankings.
Florida State Seminoles
The Seminoles haven’t always been dominant but they are undefeated and at the top of the ACC. A tricky game with Miami is up this week. The Seminoles can not afford to lose the rest of the way as the ACC strength is going to hamper their ability to make the playoff if they have a loss.

In the Mix
Ohio State Buckeyes
The Buckeyes stayed at No. 1 in the latest CFP, but we are sticking with Michigan getting in from the Big Ten. All of it will sort itself out in three weeks when the Buckeyes head to the Big House to take on the Wolverines.
Alabama Crimson Tide
The Crimson Tide got one step closer to the SEC Championship game when they beat rival LSU on Saturday night. A trip to Kentucky is up this weekend and is a must-win for Alabama.
Oregon Ducks
The Ducks are ready to pounce if one of the undefeated teams slips up. They were dominant once again on Saturday against Cal, but have a big matchup with USC this weekend. A game with rival Oregon State still looms also.
Texas Longhorns
The Longhorns escaped an overtime game with Kansas State and stayed in the hunt for a CFP berth. They have to win out to have a shot, but if they do they will be right on the edge of getting a chance.
