On Wednesday night in college softball action, Nevada will travel to Berkeley to take on Cal in its final regular season game at Levine-Fricke Field. The Wolfpack come into the mid-week matchup with an overall record of 38-14 and a conference record of 14-8 for a spot in second place in the Mountain West standings. Nevada closed out conference play over the weekend with a series against San Diego State, which resulted in a 2-1 series victory, dropping the last game 4-2 to miss out on the sweep. The loss went to Blake Craft in the circle after she pitched 4.2 innings and gave up one earned run while walking six batters. Bridgette Gilliano opened the scoring for the Wolfpack with a solo homer in the first and Charli Hawkins added an RBI single in the second, but the Aztecs rallied to score four unanswered runs and earn the win.

The Golden Bears are currently in eighth place out of nine teams in the Pac-12 standings with a conference record of 7-12 and an overall record of 33-15. Over the weekend, the team traveled to take on last place Arizona State, winning two out of the three with the series finale being a 7-2 win. Home runs from Elon Butler, Kaylee Pond and Mika Lee in the third inning put the Bears up 6-0. The Sun Devils got two runs back in the bottom of the third, but that was the closest they would get. Lee doubled in the fifth to bring in the final run of the game. Randi Roelling earned her 12th win of the year in the circle with one inning of work, while Ryann Orange was credited with the save, striking out four batters in three innings.

Cal will close out Pac-12 play this weekend with a series against Oregon State, while Nevada awaits who its first opponent will be in Mountain West tournament play, which begins May 9.
