The NCAA softball tournament will kick off today with a matchup between the No. 17 ranked team in the country, Virginia Tech, and the No. 6 ranked team in the nation, UCLA, at the Los Angeles Regional in California on Saturday afternoon. Each regional is a double-elimination tournament with a chance to advance to the Super Regionals in the next round of the NCAA Tournament. The Bruins finished their season 38-10 overall and 17-4 against teams from the Pac-12 Conference. They won the Pac-12 Tournament last weekend starting with a win against Arizona State 6-0 and followed it up with a win against Arizona 6-5 and the championship win over Utah 2-1 in three-straight days. They opened up NCAA Tournament play with a win over Grand Canyon 9-0. Kaitlyn Terry picked up the win, her 19th of the season. She pitched 5.0 innings with seven strikeouts and just two allowed hits. Sharlize Palacios has an amazing day batting three-for-three with two home runs, two runs, and five RBIs.

Five different players had one RBI each including Addy Greene, Cameron Fagan, Cori McMillan, Kylie Aldridge, and Annika Rohs.
