A cross-town rivalry game will take place Tuesday afternoon as Boston University hosts Boston College.
On Tuesday afternoon, Boston College will travel across town to take on Boston University at BU Softball Field for a mid-week, non-conference battle for bragging rights in the city. The Eagles come into Tuesday’s game with an overall record of 27-21 and 7-14 in conference play for a spot in ninth place in the ACC standings. The team has won two games in a row with the most recent being a 6-3 win over Notre Dame on Sunday to secure the series win in South Bend. Nicole Giery led at the plate for the Eagles, going 3-for-4 while Jordan Stephens and Makenna Segal each brought in two runs to lift the team to a win. Abby Dunning earned the victory in the circle with a complete game in which she walked five batters and struck out two.

The Terriers are currently undefeated in Patriot League play at 15-0 to hold the top spot in the standings. The team’s most recent game resulted in a 10-1 win, its fourth in a row, over Lafayette in six innings to move to 45-4-1 overall. Kayla Roncin and Kylie Doherty each finished the game with three RBI from a double and a home run, respectively. Kasey Ricard moved to 23-2 on the season with the win after pitching six innings and striking out an impressive 11 batters.
When these two teams met last season in their rivalry game, Boston University won handily in an 11-0 shutout in just five innings on the road.
