An SEC series between Florida and Arkansas will begin Friday night in Fayetteville.
On Friday night, SEC West-leading No. 2 Arkansas will host Florida at Baum-Walker Stadium for the first game of a three-game series. The Gators are currently 21-19 overall and 8-10 in conference play which puts them in sixth place in the SEC East standings. The team has won two games in a row with the most recent being a 13-3 win over Stetson on Tuesday in seven innings. Luke Heyman, Ty Evans, Jac Caglianone, Michael Robertson, Brody Donay and Cade Kurland each hit home runs to account for 11 of the team’s runs. Ryan Slater finished the game with three strikeouts to earn the win on the mound.

The Razorbacks also bring a two-game win streak into Friday’s game to bring their overall record to 35-6 and their conference record to 14-4 for a spot in first place in the SEC West standings. Earlier this week, the team traveled to Arkansas-Pine Bluff and earned a big 11-1 win in seven innings. Wehiwa Aloy led the Arkansas offense with five RBI after going 4-for-4 at the plate. Nolan Souza and Peyton Stovall each recorded two hits in the win, as well. Cooper Dossett threw for three innings and earned the win by giving up just two hits and striking out four batters.
Florida and Arkansas last met in 2022 for four games with the most recent being a 7-5 win for Florida to advance to the third round of the SEC Tournament.
