Kylian Mbappe and France will take the pitch against Eduardo Vargas and Chile today.
The men’s national team of France will take on the men’s national team of Chile in an international friendly at Orange Vèlodrome in Marseille, France. The French nationals are coming off of a World Cup runner-up appearance in 2022 losing to Lionel Messi and Argentina. They picked up international play again in March with European Championship Qualifying in the group stage. They picked up a 4-0 win against the Netherlands last Friday. Antoine Griezmann and Dayot Upamecano both scored in the first 10 minutes of the game. Kylian Mbappe scored the garbage time goals in the 21st and 88th minutes. They then took on and beat the Republic of Ireland 1-0 on Monday the 27th of March. After a scoreless first half, Benjamin Pavard scored the lone goal that ended up being the game-winner. This will be another opportunity for France to get their team in order before the knockout stage.

The Chilean national team hasn’t played recently except of one previous international friendly played against Albania last week. They were able to pick up that win 3-0 in shutout format. Eduardo Varga picked up the early goal in the 19th minute. Marco Bolados added to the lead securing the win with a goal in the 83rd minute.
The last goal was scored by Victor Dávila in stoppage time of the end of the game. Dávila also had an assist with Ben Brereton Diaz also having an assist in that game. They will be looking for a huge boost to their team’s morale with a win over one of the world’s top teams.
