Kraken aim to snap losing skid as season ending road trip skates in Manitoba against the playoff bound Jets
Riding a six-game winning streak and virtually locked into the two seed in the Central Division, the Winnipeg Jets drop the puck on a season-ending two-game home stand tonight as they play host to the Seattle Kraken inside the Canada Life Centre. The Kraken have lost three games in a row and have been eliminated from postseason consideration after making the playoffs last year in only the franchise’s second season. Winnipeg has beaten three consecutive playoff-bound teams during its current winning streak with all three coming on the road including an overtime win at Nashville and back-to-back shutout victories over Dallas and Colorado.

Winnipeg leads the NHL allowing just 2.41 goals per game paced by goaltender Connor Hellebuyck who is 36-19-4 this season with a 2.38 goals against average and .922 save percentage. In his ninth NHL season, Hellebuyck has posted five 30-win seasons in the last seven years including a 44-win season with the Jets in 2017-18.
Seattle winger Jared McCann comes into tonight one goal away from his second consecutive 30-goal season after posting a career-high 40 goals for the Kraken during their playoff run in 2023. In three seasons with Seattle, McCann has tallied 96 goals and 85 goals and is the franchise’s all-time leader in goals and points.
The Jets lead the all-time series 6-2 over Seattle including three of the four games played at home however the Kraken did skate off with a 4-3 road in in their last trip to Winnipeg.
