The final ACC series of the season will continue for North Carolina and Florida State on Saturday.
North Carolina will look to pull off an upset over No. 11 Florida State on Saturday in the second game of the teams’ final ACC series of the regular season ahead of tournament play next weekend. The Tar Heels come into Saturday’s game with an overall record of 30-17 and a conference record of 10-12 for a spot in seventh place in the ACC standings. The team has lost two games in a row with the most recent being a 13-3 loss in the series opener against Florida State last night in six innings. The Seminoles held North Carolina to just four hits, only one of which was an extra-base hit as Carlie Myrtle hit a solo shot in the second inning. Kenna Raye Dark dropped to 8-5 on the season, taking the loss after 0.2 innings of pitching in which she gave up five earned runs.

The Seminoles are currently on a 12-game win streak and will look to add one more on Saturday. The team is now 38-10 overall with a conference record of 16-3 to hold the top spot in the ACC standings. Jahni Kerr, Isa Torres and Jaysoni Beachum each hit home runs in the win and Beachum led the team with an impressive five RBI. Ashtyn Danley improved to 14-3 on the season with 4.2 innings of work in which she gave up just three hits and struck out two batters.
