Sunday’s UFL action kicks off at noon with the DC Defenders hosting the St. Louis Battlehawks.
On Sunday afternoon, Week 5 of the UFL season continues with the St. Louis Battlehawks (3-1) visiting the DC Defenders (2-2) at Audi Field. Both of these teams compete in the XFL division. Coming into the week, St. Louis was tied with the San Antonio Brahmas for first place in the division, with the Defenders just one game back. Last week the Battlehawks were able to keep pace, with a 32-17 win over the Memphis Showboats. The Battlehawks put up 355 total yards of offense in that one, as quarterback AJ McCarron threw for 222 yards and three touchdowns.

DC came up just short last week. The Defenders dropped a 20-18 game to the Birmingham Stallions in Birmingham. It was a ‘bend don’t break’ performance by the DC defense which allowed 356 total yards but only the 20 points, while holding Birmingham to a 3-of-11 mark on third downs and stopping them from scoring on four red zone trips.
Both of these teams played in the XFL last season. The Battlehawks only lost three games in the 10-game season, but two of those losses came at the hands of the Defenders – a 34-28 game at Audi Field in Week 3, and then a 28-20 game in St. Louis two weeks later.
