It’s the second contest of a seven-game series between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Phoenix Suns today at Target Center, as the playoffs continue to get underway. In Game 1 of this series, Minnesota dominated Phoenix, winning by 35 points and setting the tone early. In Game 2, the Suns will need to ensure better defense is played. The Timberwolves are the best in the league on that end, so trying to better match their efforts on that end will be crucial. This isn’t a team that Phoenix can hope to just outscore and have success.

In the opening contest between these two teams, Anthony Edwards proved to be the best player on the floor. He finished with 33 points, nine rebounds and six assists in the huge win, significantly outplaying Devin Booker on both ends. Kevin Durant scored 31 points in Game 1, but will need more help from his teammates in the scoring department, especially given Booker and Bradley Beal only combined for 33 total points. 

Following this contest, the series will shift to Phoenix as the Suns will get two games in front of their home crowd. Game 3 will take place on Friday, followed by Game 4 on Sunday at Footprint Center.
