The third round of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans tees off with a four-way tie at the top of the leaderboard today.
Heading into the third round of play in the 2024 Zurich Classic of New Orleans there are four pairs tied at -13 overall with seven more just one stroke behind. This weekend is set to be an exciting finish with Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry as one of the teams tied at -13 overall for a share of the lead. They got off to a great start in the first round with birdies on 11 holes, six on the front nine and five more on the back nine. McIlroy and Lowry slowed down in the second, but finished well enough to hold a share of the lead entering the weekend and the third round today.

Those two will look to move past the other three teams tied at -13 overall in Aaron Rai and David Lipsky, Davis Thompson and Andrew Novak, and Ryan Brehm and Mark Hubbard over the next 36 holes at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
In the first round the teams of McIlroy and Lowry, Rai and Lipsky, and Brehm and Hubbard all shot a 61 then followed that up with a 70 in the second round. Thompson and Novak started off with a 62 and then earned a share of the lead with a 69 in the second round to sit at the top of the leaderboard.
One of the teams tied for fifth place with a -12 overall is Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele who have been steady and consistent. In the first round they shot a 65 followed by a 67 to sit one stroke back of the lead heading into the weekend. Aside from one bogey on 18 in the second round, they have shot a clean first two rounds of golf.
