That puts them in third place in the SEC West. The series finale was a back-and-forth battle that resulted in a narrow 8-7 victory for Mississippi State. The Bulldogs opened the scoring with a five-run inning powered by a two-run double from Connor Hujsak and a three-run homer from Logan Kohler. David Mershon made it a 6-0 game with a solo home run in the fourth, but the Commodores put up six runs in the sixth to tie things up before taking a 7-6 lead in the seventh. Hunter Hines hit a two-run walk-off in the ninth to secure the win for the Bulldogs. Tyson Hardin earned the save with one inning of work on the mound.

Ole Miss and Mississippi State have already played three times this season in their SEC series, which resulted in the Rebels taking the first game in an 8-0 win, before the Bulldogs won the second and third game with scores of 10-9 and 14-2, respectively.
