Real Madrid are said to be focusing their recruitment efforts upon the Stade Pierre Mauroy after it emerged the Lille trio of Boubakary Soumare, Victor Osimhen and Gabriel are each on their radar.
Marca reported the Ligue 1 club’s prized assets have each attracted the attention of the Santiago Bernabeu following their surges to prominence this year.
Striker Osimhen—who has just turned 21—dazzled up front on loan with Belgian club Charleroi last season, and he’s Lille’s top scorer this term by some distance, with 10 in the league alone.
Former Paris Saint-Germain starlet Soumare, 20, has been a live-wire in midfield while Brazilian centre-back Gabriel, 22, has impressed in defence to provide the club with a solid spine.
Real manager Zinedine Zidane is thought to be keen on all three players as he chases young, talented reinforcements in most areas.
Soumare is reportedly considered as a midfield alternative to anchor Casemiro, though he may be a lower priority given Federico Valverde’s evolution in deep-lying midfield this term. Los Blancos also already have a young striker in Luka Jovic, 22, who joined from Eintracht Frankfurt this past summer in a deal worth around $70 million.
Lille sold star winger Nicolas Pepe to Arsenal in an $89 million deal last summer, more than double their previous record sale: Eden Hazard’s £32 million departure to Chelsea in 2012.
The club have reinvested much of that fee methodically, and the result thus far has been fourth-place in Ligue 1, with a decent chance of qualifying for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
