How to Watch Mud Hens at Indians, Game 1: Stream MILB Live, TV Channel

The Toledo Mud Hens and Indianapolis Indians try for a third straight day on Thursday to get their six-game series underway after back-to-back rainouts.

The Toledo Mud Hens (22-17) and Indianapolis Indians (17-19) attempt for the third straight day to open their six-game series on Thursday. Tuesday’s scheduled series opener wound up postponed, as did Wednesday’s game, due to rain and wet grounds. The Mud Hens, the Triple-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, come off a split of last week’s six-game set with the visiting St. Paul Saints, while Indianapolis, the top farm club of the Pittsburgh Pirates, dropped five of six, including the last three, on the road to the Louisville Bats.

Thursday now features a doubleheader, with the first game to be televised, followed by the makeup of Tuesday’s game. Wednesday’s matchup is to be played as part of a Sunday twinbill.

Toledo’s roster features infielder Jace Jung, the 23-year-old younger brother of Texas Rangers third baseman Josh Jung. The younger Jung, ranked No. 48 on MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 prospects, leads the Mud Hens with six home runs and 27 RBIs to go with a .282/.400/.524 slash line.

None of Pittsburgh’s top 30 prospects are at the Triple-A level besides right-hander Mike Burrows, ranked No. 10 in the system. Nick Gonzales, a 24-year-old second baseman selected No. 7 overall in 2020, slashes .358/.431/.608 with a team-high four home runs. Shortstop Liover Peguero, 23, tops the club with 23 RBIs.

The Indians did not declare a starter for Wednesday’s opener. Toledo gives the ball to 29-year-old right-hander Bryan Sammons (4-2), who authored a 3.74 ERA and 1.16 WHIP in 33.2 innings over seven starts so far this season.
