The Washington Nationals bounced back nicely in the opener against the Miami Marlins on Friday after a sweep against the Los Angeles Dodgers in their last series. Miami meanwhile is trying to end a four-game losing streak and tie this series tonight. The Marlins have won just two games at home this season and are already 13.5 games out of first in the NL East. The opener was the first time these division rivals have played one another this season and it was close the whole way. That was until Joey Meneses hit a tiebreaking two-run single in the eighth inning. CJ Abrams came home on a brilliant slide to get the final run of the game. Washington tied the game in the sixth inning on a groundout double play in a game where the offense was incredibly tough to come by. Miami does have the line in Game 2 though sitting at -135.
