The Phillies took the second game of the series last night 5-1 after winning the first one 9-3. Aaron Nola allowed three earned runs on seven hits with 10 strikeouts in 8.0 innings in the first win. Kyle Schwarber, Bryce Harper, J.T. Realmuto, Branden Marsh, and Nick Castellanos all homered in that first game in a stunning performance. Marsh had three RBIs to lead the team as well. Ranger Suarez pitched another great outing going 8.0 innings and not allowing his only earned run until the bottom of the eighth. He also had eight strikeouts. Alec Bohm was the hero of the game hitting a two-run home run in the top of the first and following it up in the fifth inning with a two-run RBI.

Taijuan Walker will get the start for Philadelphia in this series finale. Tonight, he will pitch his first game of the season in the rotation. The right-hander ended his 2023 campaign with a 15-6 record and a 4.38 ERA. He struck out a total of 138 batters in 172.2 total innings. He will look to capitalize on another opportunity here this season.
The former New York Yankee will get the start for San Diego tonight. Michael King is 2-2 this season with a 4.11 ERA and 34 strikeouts in 30.2 total innings. He went just 3.2 innings in his last start giving up four earned runs on eight hits with five strikeouts and three walks in 83 total pitches against the Colorado Rockies.
