The 5 best games on the Week 15 NFL slate

Fubo News ranks the five best games on the NFL slate for Week 15. Watch the NFL this weekend on Fubo live and for free.

Heading into Week 15 of the NFL season, only two of the NFL’s 32 teams have been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention (the Carolina Panthers and New England Patriots). Of the 30 left, 24 are either currently in a playoff spot or within one game of playoff position.

With just four weeks left, every game is now crucial for those teams. That’s especially true for the teams facing those they are in playoff races with head-to-head.

Keeping that in mind, which games stand out on this week’s slate? Let’s take a look at the top games this week, which includes a very strong Saturday slate.

5. Minnesota Vikings (7-6) at Cincinnati Bengals (7-6)

Saturday, 1:00 p.m. ET on NFL Network

So far, the Bengals have been able to hold the rope despite losing quarterback Joe Burrow for the season. They lost their first game without Burrow to the Pittsburgh Steelers but have since won two games in a row behind solid play from backup quarterback Jake Browning. With wins over the Jacksonville Jaguars and Indianapolis Colts, the Bengals sit at 7-6, making them one of six AFC teams competing for a Wild Card spot with that record.

The Vikings find themselves in a similar spot, trying to hold on for a Wild Card spot with a backup quarterback. After two losses in a row, the Vikings came out of their bye week last week and knocked off the Raiders in a 3-0 game in Las Vegas.

Things still don’t look as in sync with Vikings quarterback Josh Dobbs as they did a few weeks ago. With that, the Bengals should have a good chance to extend their Wild Card push at home on Saturday.

4. Denver Broncos (7-6) at Detroit Lions (9-4)

Saturday, 8:15 p.m. ET on NFL Network

The Lions were on a role up until Thanksgiving when they lost 29-22 to the Green Bay Packers in a game that was not nearly as close as that score indicated. With last Sunday’s loss to the Bears, the Lions have now lost two of three, and there are questions about their post-season readiness after they were one of the best teams in football to start the year.

Saturday will be a great chance to quiet those critics, against a Broncos team that has followed somewhat of an alternate path – after a 1-5 start Denver has gone 6-1 in its last seven games.

With Detroit’s offense struggling – they have three or more turnovers in three of their last four and four of their last six games – this is a great spot for a talented Denver defense to make a statement and keep the Broncos in the Wild Card picture in the AFC.

3. Pittsburgh Steelers (7-6) at Indianapolis Colts (7-6)

Saturday, 4:30 p.m. ET on NFL Network

The Steelers are yet another team trying to stay in the AFC Wild Card picture despite losing their starting quarterback. It hasn’t gone as well for them as they’ve lost to two of the worst teams in the NFL the last two weeks, the Arizona Cardinals and New England Patriots. Offensively, the Steelers managed just 28 points total between those two games.

Still, via tiebreakers Pittsburgh enters the week as the sixth seed in the AFC, tops among the 7-6 teams. Right behind them? A Colts team that also features a backup quarterback in Gardner Minshew. Indy had won four games in a row before losing to the Bengals last week.

This game is a great get-right spot for the Steelers, even on the road. Can they make the most of it?

2. Baltimore Ravens (10-3) at Jacksonville Jaguars (8-5)

Sunday, 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC

The Jacksonville Jaguars have their backs against the wall. They’ve lost two games in a row, are now just one game up for first place in the AFC South, and their quarterback is playing with a high ankle sprain. Now, they have to face arguably the best team in the AFC, the Baltimore Ravens.

This game will be a great measuring stick for the Jags, who can prove they belong in the top class of the AFC with a win. With a loss, just making the playoffs becomes a legitimate question.

Meanwhile, the Ravens are beginning a tough stretch to finish the season. With matchups against the San Francisco 49ers and Miami Dolphins still to come, this is one of their most winnable games remaining. If they want to lock up the top seed and playoff bye in the AFC, this is a game they have to have.

1. Dallas Cowboys (10-3) at Buffalo Bills (7-6)

Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET on FOX

The Cowboys are coming off of one of the best wins any NFL team has had this year – a 33-13 beatdown of the Philadelphia Eagles last Sunday night. The Cowboys now hold the first-place tiebreaker in the NFC East, and have a shot at the top overall seed in the NFC.

They’ll have a chance to prove themselves once again against a Bills team that seemed to get back on track last week, picking up a big win over the Kansas City Chiefs. Buffalo is down but not out, sitting on the outside looking in at the AFC Wild Card picture at 7-6.

If Buffalo is truly back, the Bills will win this game. If not their playoff hopes become a long shot, while Dallas probably gets more looks as a true Super Bowl contender.

Regional restrictions may apply.
