The decisions on who to start and who to bench gets harder every week. If you have one of these five players, let me make it a little simpler.

As injuries continue to mount and players continue to underperform, the decisions on which players to start and which to bench get harder and harder. Here are a few pieces of advice for players to bench and players to make sure are in your starting lineups to win your Week 3 matchup in your fantasy football league.

Sit: Kyle Pitts, TE, Falcons

Kyle Pitts has had a rough go this season through the first two games. He has totaled just eight targets with four catches for 59 yards and has barely even been utilized in the red zone. Pitts had 7.40 points in Week 1 and followed it up with 4.50 points in Week 2. I can comfortably say that Pitts should stay in the “sit” category until Atlanta decides to give its star tight end more work.

Start: Puka Nacua, WR, Rams

This should not be a surprise, but I feel the need to give the reminder since I decided to sit Nacua last week to make sure he “proved” himself after a flawless Week 1. Well, not only did he prove himself, but he outdid himself in Week 2. He has now totaled 35 targets, the most ever by a rookie through two games, with 266 yards and 52.50 fantasy points without even finding the end zone yet. He will be a weekly must-start even when Cooper Kupp returns.

Sit: Justin Fields, QB, Bears

The Chicago Bears offense has been abysmal and that is a nice way of putting it. Field has thrown for 427 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions through two weeks. His main source of fantasy value stemming from last year was his legs and ability to get outside of the pocket and run. He had 59 yards on the ground in Week 1 but he totaled just three yards on four rushes in Week 2 with no designed runs for the QB. Until they get that figured out, I’m streaming a replacement.

Start: Travis Etienne, RB, Jaguars

Travis Etienne went from a monster Week 1 performance with 18 rushes for 77 yards and a touchdown on the ground with five receptions on five targets for 27 yards. He had 22.90 fantasy points and was the RB6 on the Week. Last week, he had just 6.20 points rushing for 40 yards on 12 carries and seeing just two receptions for two yards on three targets. It truly was a tale of two games. However, his matchup with Houston this week tends to lead me to believe he will have a more Week 1 game than Week 2 performance this week.

Sit: Garrett Wilson, WR, Jets

Garrett Wilson was a highly touted receiver in this year’s fantasy drafts. With the QB of Aaron Rodgers, who can blame anyone? Well, with Rodgers officially done and Zach Wilson taking his place, can anyone actually trust Wilson going forward? He pulled in two targets for 83 yards and a touchdown last week for a much-saved fantasy performance with his end zone score. Without that touchdown, he was looking at a one-catch for 15 yards and a 2.50 fantasy performance day. This week, he gets the Patriots who have a talented secondary.
