How to Watch Liverpool vs. Atalanta: Stream Europa League Live, TV Channel

Liverpool’s best chance at silverware this season faces a stiff test as Atalanta visits in the Europa League quarterfinals.

At least one Italian team is guaranteed to reach the last four of this season’s Europa League, but Atalanta faces a mountainous challenge of beating Liverpool if it’s to advance beyond the quarter-finals. The two teams kick off their two-legged clash at Anfield on Thursday hoping to inject some hope into their campaigns after each suffering recent disappointments on the domestic front. Gian Piero Gasperini’s side have lost their last two games and look destined to miss out on Serie A’s top four this term, while Liverpool is licking its wounds after losing pace in the Premier League title race having dropped points at Manchester United.

The Reds have been close to flawless in Europe so far this season, however, and boast a perfect return of four wins from as many home fixtures in this term’s competition.

That being said, Jurgen Klopp will be all too aware of the fact Atalanta won its only previous visit to Anfield in 2020 during the group stage of that year’s Champions League.

The Merseysiders returned the favor (and then some) with a 5-0 victory in Bergamo the same season, but Liverpool will nonetheless be treating Thursday’s task with the utmost respect.

That’s particularly the case after a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford on Sunday prevented Klopp & Co. from climbing back to the top of the Premier League despite Mohamed Salah’s late penalty equalizer.

That match featured a sensational first Old Trafford goal from United youngster Kobbie Mainoo after Bruno Fernandes already bagged the host’s first from close to halfway.

That result came only a fortnight after the Red Devils knocked their fierce rival out of the FA Cup, although Liverpool still hasn’t lost a match inside the 90 minutes since February 4 (Arsenal away).

Atalanta can’t quite say the same after its form has taken a tumble in recent weeks, winning only two of its last nine fixtures in all competitions and seeing its chances of a top-four finish in Serie A all but sputter out of life.

For that reason, a result on Merseyside in midweek will be seen as paramount to the club’s chances of making it back to Europe next term, but the Reds are unlikely to be hospitable hosts.

Regional restrictions may apply.
