Led by head coach Steve Cherundolo, LAFC’s most recent outing was a 3-1 elimination at the hands of El Tráfico rival LA Galaxy in the U.S. Open Cup Round of 16. Ryan Hollingshead’s goal hit the back of the net in the 85th minute when the Galaxy were already up 3-0.
The Earthquakes’ most recent match was also an elimination in the Open Cup round of 16, where the club lost 2-0 to USL side Sacramento Republic FC.
San Jose and Los Angeles will both look to get back to winning ways on Saturday when the teams meet at Banc of California Stadium in MLS regular-season action.
