Week 5 Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Adds

Thanksgiving week gives fantasy managers a unique opportunity to test their waiver wire skills with fewer games on the schedule and less margin for error. The action gets started today with eight games.

Getting on the waiver wire right now is definitely something you are going to be thankful for this week.

As with every week this season, these are all players that are rostered on less than 50% of Yahoo Fantasy Hoops Leagues at the moment. Get on your waiver additions as quickly as possible with a full slate of games today and an odd week in the NBA with the holiday.

Guards

Jordan Hawkins (34% Rostered)

Four Games: Sacramento Kings (twice, Monday and Wednesday), @ Los Angeles Clippers (Friday) and @ Utah Jazz

This week could be a big week for the rookie facing four teams that do not present the best perimeter defenses. This season Hawkins has six games with 3+ made three-pointers and is coming off back-to-back games with four assists. He is getting more responsibility in the offense and has the potential to swing a game or a week as a waiver wire addition.

Lonnie Walker IV (30% Rostered)

Three Games: @ Atlanta Hawks (Wednesday), Miami Heat (Saturday) and Chicago Bulls (Sunday

Last week Walker IV finished 49 points, nine rebounds and eight made three-pointers in two games. He is coming off the bench, but with Cam Thomas out there is a scoring vacuum that Walker IV is filling for the Brooklyn Nets with his shooting.

Donte DiVincenzo (6% Rostered)

Three Games: @ Minnesota Timberwolves (Monday), Miami Heat (Friday) and Phoenix Suns (Sunday)

DiVincenzo has slotted into the starting lineup over the last two games where he has shined. As a starter he totaled 39 points, seven rebounds, four assists, three steals and 11 made three-pointers. The former Villanova star has a clear rhythm with Jalen Brunson and the starters, causing havoc on defense and providing spacing as a shooter.

Forwards

Santi Aldama (44% Rostered)

Three Games: @ Houston Rockets (Wednesday), Phoenix Suns (Friday) and Minnesota Timberwolves (Sunday)

Last week Aldama finally broke through with his best stretch of the season. He finished with 69 points, 27 rebounds, 13 rebounds, three blocks, two double-doubles and 10 made three-pointers. If that is a real trend for the Memphis big man, he could be a double-double force going forward.

Saddiq Bey (32% Rostered)

Three Games: Indiana Pacers (Tuesday), Brooklyn Nets (Wednesday) and @ Washington Wizards (Sunday)

Bey is finding a role off the bench for the Atlanta Hawks finishing last week with 52 points, 13 rebounds, five steals and six made three-pointers. As a bench utility player this week Bey is a great steal if you can get him facing three of the worst defenses in the NBA. Bey gives a combination of points, steals and three-pointers to your roster.

Jonathan Kuminga (24% Rostered)

Three Games: Houston Rockets (Monday), @ Phoenix Suns (Wednesday) and San Antonio Spurs (Friday)

These are the final three games of Draymond Greenā€™s suspension, which means Kuminga will get to play off of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson as the main forward scorer on the team. In the first two games of Greenā€™s suspension, Kuminga has totaled 34 points, 11 rebounds and four assists on 14/24 shooting giving a Fantasy Manager an efficient scorer at the bottom of the bench.

Centers

Mo Wagner (24% Rostered)

Three Games: Toronto Raptors (Tuesday), Denver Nuggets (Wednesday) and Boston Celtics (Friday)

While Wagner is not getting the starting nod right now, he gets to come into games against second units, which has kept his scoring at a consistent clip. Last week the big man finished with 42 points and 17 rebounds in four games. He adds scoring for Fantasy Managers at the end of the bench while not hurting field goal percentage (60.0%) and free-throw percentage (84.6%).

Andre Drummond (11% Rostered)

Four Games: Miami Heat (Monday), @ Oklahoma City Thunder (Wednesday), @ Toronto Raptors (Friday) and @ Brooklyn Nets (Sunday)

Drummond continues to show his value off the Chicago Bulls bench this season, but is not being rewarded with a roster spot. Last week Drummond finished the week with 32 rebounds, 24 points and six steals. He is not a high-volume scorer, but adds great value in rebounds, steals and has the potential for a double-double nightly.

Precious Achiuwa (5% Rostered)

Three Games: @ Orlando Magic (Tuesday), @ Indiana Pacers (Wednesday) and Chicago Bulls (Friday)

This week could be a good week to look at Achiuwa who is coming off scoring double-figures in three of four games last week with 23 rebounds. The Toronto Raptors are playing three teams that either play small or do not shoot the ball at a high percentage, opening up double-doubles potential Achiuwa deep off the bench.

Specialists

ASSISTS – Skylar Mays (49% Rostered)

Three Games: @ Phoenix Suns (Tuesday), Utah Jazz (Wednesday) and @ Milwaukee Bucks (Sunday)

The rookie has been a revelation for the Portland Trail Blazers with rookie Scoot Henderson and veteran Malcolm Brogdon all in and out with injuries. Last week he finished with 29 total assists and for the season he has two double-doubles with points and assists. Act quickly, as Mays might not be this available in the near future.

BLOCKS – Goga Bitadze (22% Rostered)

Three Games: Toronto Raptors (Tuesday), Denver Nuggets (Wednesday) and Boston Celtics (Friday)

The big man has slotted into the starting lineup with Wendall Carter Jr. out and has been consistent as a shot-blocker. Over his last three games, Bitadze has seven blocks while also producing on the glass with efficient shooting.

THREE POINTERS – Isaiah Joe (9% Rostered)

Two Games: Chicago Bulls (Wednesday) and Philadelphia 76ers (Saturday)

Joe just has two games this week, but with the way he is shooting any two games from Joe could be better than most shooters in the league. Over his last three games, Joe has made 14 three-pointers and has 11 games of two or more made three-pointers.
