He was accused of physically abusing his six-year-old son, Corey Micciolo, in his care, which led to Corey's death. Prosecutors wanted to leave zero doubt as to what was going on in the lead up to the young boy's tragic death. Both his parents were fighting over custody issues all while Corey was allegedly being physically abused in his father's care.

Jurors learned all about cell phone extraction. Investigators looking into the death of six-year-old Corey Micciolo used Cellebrite software to track the movements and communication of his father, Christopher Gregor. Surveillance footage was identified for the jury. One of the video clips was the incident where the defendant was seen forcing his son to run at high speeds on a treadmill. The reason - his six-year-old was getting too fat.

According to the call screener for the State's Child Protection Services the defendant made a call to their child abuse hotline. After Corey Micciolo lost his life in the hospital, Christopher Gregor skipped town. The officer who arrested him in Tennessee described the time they got him. After Corey's death, police needed to track down Gregor for questions as to what had happened. They utilized software for cell phone extraction to track him down across state lines.

Prosecutors were not done yet in bringing to the witness stand hospital personnel who tried to save Corey Micciolo's life. The registered nurse assigned to him recalls taking him in when he was feeling nauseated and too weak to move. Lindsay Carnevale remembered that the defendant abandoned his own son in the hospital after he died. Apparently, once six-year-old Corey was pronounced deceased in the ER Christopher Gregor immediately left the hospital and fled out of town.
