In 1900s New York, actor Tad Wallace (Rex Bell) auditions for a Wild West show. At the tryouts, he meets two other performers, Sally Sunshine (Doris Hill) and Freddie Storm (Harry Bowen). The three don't make the cut, but they do manage to snag a gig as a touring act. Arriving in a small town, they discover that the theater there has been burned down by Jeffries (Charles King), a powerful local criminal and former partner of Sally's. The three then set out to bring Jeffries to justice.
