The Gary Owen ShowComic Gary Owen got his big break in 1997 on BET's influential stand-up showcase "Comic View," so it's only fitting that his big return to the network is a significant one. Owen stars in a family-centric reality series, becoming the first white lead actor in the network's 36-year history. The half-hour episodes follow Owens at home in Cincinnati, where Gary was born and bred in a trailer park. He now resides in an 11,000-square-foot home in an affluent suburb with his culturally blended family -- his wife, Kenya, is black, and their children, Emilio (21), Austin (15) and Kennedy (14), are interracial.
