Ahead of its third annual year, the Pacific Island Film Festival of New York City (PIFF NYC) is honored to partner with Hawai'i News Now to present a five-part television showcase of short films, proudly brought to TV audiences across the Pacific. Each episode features a curated selection of films presented in full, followed by intimate interviews with the filmmakers, who share how they brought their Oceanic stories to life through island resources and deep community roots. This series is especially meant to inspire Native and Local filmmakers and artists who feel they need to leave the islands to succeed; PIFF and the programs it champions demonstrate that powerful stories can begin at home and be seen and celebrated around the world.
