After taking two of three games from San Jose State last weekend, the Falcons are 13-14 in conference play this season. That’s the same record as Fresno State (which plays No. 2 Nevada this weekend), with the Bulldogs currently holding the tiebreaker thanks to winning two of the three regular-season matchups.
Air Force’s lineup has been one of the best in the Mountain West this season, especially when hitting for power. The Falcons have left the ballpark 74 times this year, which leads the Mountain West. This year, four players in the lineup have double-digit home runs, with sophomore infielder Jay Thomason leading the team – and ranking No. 2 in the conference – with 14.
Sitting one home run shy of that group is sophomore infielder Sam Kulasingham, who still has been one of the best hitters in college baseball this year. Kulasingham is batting .414 this year, which leads the Mountain West.
Will the Falcons’ big bats help them get the weekend started on the right foot? Tune into Stadium 2 for first pitch Thursday at 8 p.m. ET.
