The Oakland Athletics battle the Detroit Tigers in a Saturday matinee as they look to get a rare win. The A’s have not had a good start to the year as they lost three of four to the Clevland Guardians and then were swept by the Boston Red Sox in three games to start the week. The A’s finished the 2023 season with 112 losses and the way the new season has started it looks like it could be more of the same. The biggest news coming out of Oakland is that the A’s will play in Sacramento for the next three years before heading to Las Vegas. First, though, they will play this season and on Saturday they hope they can get a win.

The Tigers, though, are looking to take care of the A’s as they try to extend their terrific start.
The Tigers were the last team to lose a game as they lost the second game of a doubleheader on Thursday to the New York Mets.
Saturday they will send Kenta Maeda to the mound in the middle game of the series. Maeda struggled in his first start of the season as he gave up six runs in just three and a third innings against the White Sox last Saturday.
