The Boston Celtics (2-1) bounced back in a big way on the road to take control of their first-round series against the Miami Heat (1-2) heading into Game 4 today. Boston got off to an incredible start on the defensive end allowing just 12 points in the first quarter and 39 points total in the first half. So far in this series Boston has outscored Miami by 42 points in the first half, building big early leads. So far through three games Tatum and Holiday have a combined plus/minus of 106-plus. Both have finished the first half with a positive plus/minus in the double-digits with Tatum a combined 50-plus and Holiday 56-plus in the first half through three games this series.
Tatum has started the playoffs this season taking what the defense is giving him. He is averaging the second most free-throws per game (9.3) in the playoffs for his career and a career-high 6.3 assists per game. While his shot is not falling (career-low 23.8% from three), Tatum is deferring to teammates, rebounding and stuffing the stat sheet every game.
For Miami, Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo have done everything they can to keep the team in the series against the best team in the NBA this season. Adebayo is leading the way with 21.7 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game while Herro has navigated the perimeter with 16.7 points, 6.7 assists and 3.7 rebounds per game through the first three games.
