How to Watch Rays at Rockies: Stream MLB Live, TV Channel

The Colorado Rockies try to avoid losing five in a row going into their home opener where they’ll host the Tampa Bay Rays Friday.

The expectations weren’t much heading into this season for the Colorado Rockies but little has gone right for the club heading into their home opener Friday afternoon against the Tampa Bay Rays. The Rockies were swept in a rainy and freezing series against the Chicago Cubs. The opening series against the defending NL Champion Arizona Diamondbacks didn’t go much better dropping two of three. The Rockies are struggling in all three aspects of the game but they had some momentum on Wednesday even though they lost 9-8 to the Cubs. The Rockies were down 5-0 going into the sixth inning but they didn’t give up scoring eight runs across the next three innings including a five-run eighth to tie the game. But the Rockies lost after Miles Mastrobuoni reached on a dropped third strike and eventually came to score the winning run in the bottom of the eighth after Seiya Suzuki hit into a fielder’s choice for his fourth RBI of the night. It has just been that kind of start for Colorado so far. They’re hoping getting back home will change their fortunes a bit.

Tampa Bay is trying to get back to .500 in this opener after losing three of its last four games. The Rays lost their last series against the Texas Rangers after a 4-1 loss in the rubber match on Wednesday. Nathan Eovaldi was sharp going seven shutout innings while only giving up four hits with eight strikeouts. Tampa Bay was only able to score in the ninth. They should be favored today though even on the road. The Rays will start Zack Littell who was 3-6 last season with a 3.93 ERA. The Rockies will counter with Austin Gomber who went 9-9 with a 5.50 ERA in 2023.
