The Arizona Diamondbacks return home on Friday night to take on the St. Lous Cardinals. The Diamondbacks are coming off a six-game road trip in which they lost the first four games but bounced back to beat the Colorado Rockies in their last two games. The win on Tuesday snapped a five-game losing streak and the win on Wednesday got them back to within a game of .500 at 6-7. The Diamondbacks have now won two series against the Rockies, but have lost their other two against the New York Yankees and Atlanta Braves. Friday they will send Brandon Pfaadt to the mound as they try and get a third straight win. Pfaadt comes into Friday 1-0 with a 5.06 ERA.

The Cardinals will counter with Steven Matz as they try and avoid a second straight loss as they begin a six-game road trip.
Matz has pitched well to start the season. He has given up just two combined runs in two starts and is 1-0 with a 1.74 ERA. The Cardinals lost his first start to the Los Angeles Dodgers but won his last start against the Miami Marlins.
The Cardinals come into Friday having lost three of their last four games and 6-7 on the season.
Friday is the first game of a six-game road trip that will also see them head to Oakland to take on the Athletics to begin next week.
