After winning two at home in the first two games, they have gone on to lose the two on the road. In this series, there hasn’t been a road team win yet.
In the last game, the Lightning got out to a quick start with a first-period goal from Pat Maroon. Nikita Kucherov added to the lead in the second period with another goal to go up 2-0. Leader Steven Stamkos piled it on in the third, going up 3-0.
After that goal, New York took one back on a goal from Artemi Panarin; however, Ondrej Palat sealed the deal with an unassisted, empty-net goal at the end of the game to win 4-1.
For New York, it doesn’t have to win a road game because of having the higher seed and getting the fourth home game. However, for Tampa Bay, if it wants to win the series, it must find a way to win in New York.
