The Cincinnati Reds and Texas Rangers head into this series finale all tied up at a game apiece. The Reds are keeping pace in the NL Central sitting just two games behind Milwaukee for the top spot. Both the Chicago Cubs and Brewers lost on Saturday and the Reds took advantage beating the Texas Rangers 8-4 on Saturday after a very close pitcher’s duel losing 2-1 in the opener. Cincinnati was in danger of dropping three in a row but the Reds dominated in Game 2 scoring the first eight runs of the game. Texas scored all of its runs in the ninth inning and dropped back to .500 in the process. Hunter Greene held the Rangers to just one hit over seven innings and he struck out six for his first win of the season. Jonathan India was big on offense getting a homer and driving in four runs.

Texas is still the slight favorite at home with a -130 line in its favor as it tries to get back to .500 at Globe Life Field. The home team will start Dane Dunning in the finale. The righty is 2-2 with a 4.61 ERA. The Reds will counter with lefty Andrew Abbott who is 1-2 with a 2.60 ERA. The good news for the defending champs is that they are only 1.5 games back of the AL West lead but Seattle has won three in a row to claim the top spot so they’ll need to keep up.
