De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis lead the Sacramento Kings against the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday.
Heading into Sunday the Sacramento Kings (44-33) have slipped all the way down to ninth in the Western Conference standings. For the majority of the season Sacramento was in the top six of the standings, but if the season ended today it would have to win two win-or-go-home games just to earn the final playoff seed. De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis will have all the pressure on them today against the Brooklyn Nets (31-47) and to close the season over the final five games. Brooklyn has already been eliminated from the playoffs, but the team has won back-to-back games and gets to play spoiler down the stretch.

Brooklyn has not only won two straight games, but also five of the last seven games. They are averaging 112.3 points per game during this stretch with wins over the Indiana Pacers and Chicago Bulls, both teams that have already clinched a spot in the postseason.
Cam Thomas has taken his game to another level in the second half of the season. During this seven-game stretch Thomas has played in six games averaging 29.5 points and 4.2 assists per game. Thomas before the All-Star Break in 45 games was averaging just 2.6 assists per game. In 17 games since he is averaging 3.9 assists per game to help find this new gear.
For Sacramento the team is just two games out of sixth place and two games from falling to 10th in the Western Conference. Fox and Sabonis will have to shoulder more of the load with starter Kevin Huerter and Sixth Man of the Year candidate Malik Monk out for the foreseeable future.
