The 5 best games on the Week 6 NFL slate

Fubo News presents the five best NFL games for Week 6. Catch NFL action on Fubo all season long, including a free trial.

The NFL’s schedule for Week 6 is an interesting one. There are only two games between teams with records over .500. Still, there are plenty of interesting games on the slate with storylines across the league.

Which Week 6 games hold the most intrigue? Let’s take a look.

5. New England Patriots (1-4) at Las Vegas Raiders (2-3)

Sunday, 4:05 p.m. ET on CBS

Could this game mark the end of the Bill Belichick era in New England? After suffering back-to-back 30-point losses the last two weeks – including a 34-0 shutout last week at the hands of the New Orleans Saints – there are suddenly serious questions about Belichick’s job security. Would another bad loss end his 24-year run with the Patriots?

This game is also a rematch of one of the best endings of last season. That was the Disaster In the Desert play when then-Patriots wide receiver Jakobi Meyers – who is now on the Raiders – launched a last-second lateral in a tie game right to Raiders defensive end Chandler Jones, who took the ball in for a game-winning touchdown.

The Patriots certainly come in looking for revenge for that ending. But with all the issues they’re having offensively right now – they’ve gone 34 drives without a touchdown – they’ll need a lot more than just that motivation.

4. Indianapolis Colts (3-2) at Jacksonville Jaguars (3-2)

Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET on CBS

After two weeks in London, the Jaguars are finally back stateside and will be at home this week for a divisional matchup with the Colts. The winner of this game will walk away with sole possession of first place in the AFC South.

The Jaguars have won back-to-back games after a 1-2 start, including a 25-20 win over the Bills last week. Trevor Lawrence had one of his best performances of the year, throwing for 315 yards and a score with no interceptions.

As the Jaguars look to build on that performance, they face a Colts team without starting rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson, who went on IR this week. It will be up to backup quarterback Gardner Minshew, who finished last week’s win over the Titans, to keep things on track. Can he win in a shootout with Lawrence? That would be a big ask, so if the Colts want to win this game they’ll need their defense to step up.

3. Seattle Seahawks (3-1) at Cincinnati Bengals (2-3)

Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET on CBS

Are the Bengals starting to figure things out? They beat the Arizona Cardinals 34-20 last week and now have won two of three after an 0-2 start. Perhaps most importantly, Joe Burrow looked as good as he has all season, throwing for 317 yards and three touchdowns.

As the Bengals try to climb back to .500, they face a Seahawks team that had two weeks to prepare for his game after last week’s bye. Pete Carroll’s squad put together a dominant defensive effort last time out, shutting down the New York Giants 24-3 two weeks ago on Monday Night Football. Still, this Bengals offense is another step or two up, especially if they’re firing on all cylinders. They’ll be a tough out, especially at home.

2. Dallas Cowboys (3-2) at Los Angeles Chargers (2-2)

Monday, 8:15 p.m. ET on ABC/ESPN

Who are these Cowboys? Who are these Chargers? Two teams with strong rosters but identities tough to nail down meet up on Monday Night Football this week.

The Cowboys have some big wins on their roster, including a 40-0 win over the Giants in Week 1 and a 38-3 defeat of the Patriots two weeks ago. However, for their high highs, they’ve had some low lows as well – a 28-16 upset loss to the Arizona Cardinals a few weeks ago, and last week a 42-10 blowout at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers.

Meanwhile, the Chargers got off to a surprise 0-2 start before bouncing back with wins the last two weeks. After struggling defensively earlier in the season, they’ve progressively allowed fewer points each week.

Can that trend continue against the Cowboys? Or will Dak Prescott bounce back this week?

1. Detroit Lions (4-1) @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-1)

Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET on FOX

This should be a fun one. The Lions came into the season as the popular pick as one of the most underrated teams in the league, and they’ve lived up to that billing. Dan Campbell’s offense ranks fourth in the league averaging 29.6 points per game, and should only get better with Jameson Williams returning from a suspension.

The Lions will face an upstart Buccaneers team that many had written off as rebuilding following the departure of Tom Brady. However, Baker Mayfield has stepped in and made plays, while the defense has continued to be outstanding allowing just 17 points per game.

Coming off of a bye, can the Buccaneers prove their legitimacy by beating a potential playoff team? They could use a win like this, with their lone loss coming against the Philadelphia Eagles. It wouldn’t be surprising to see this game go a bit like that one, with the Bucs hanging around but failing to get over the hump.

Regional restrictions may apply.
