Fantasy Football Week 14 Waiver Priority

Heading into Week 14, don’t let the routine of the season let you slack on these top five waiver priorities that could be starters.

This is the time of year when players in your league start to lose interest in the waiver wire. Don’t let that be you! Especially if you are on pace for the playoffs continue working and improving. Several injuries happened last week that will lead to players likely unrostered being forced into action and could produce great fantasy value if they are called upon. Here are the top five players on the waiver wire this week that you should consider rostering.

Tyjae Spears, RB, Tennessee Titans

Derrick Henry fell at the hand of the injury bug last week. With Henry out, Spears saw 16 carries and took them for 75 yards. He also showed his ability as a pass-catching back with four receptions on six targets for 13 yards. He averaged 4.69 yards per carry and finished as the RB14 despite seeing just 67% of the snaps. With the ability of Tennessee’s offensive line to open up the run, a full workload for Spears could see 20+ points.

Chris Rodriguez, RB, Washington Commanders

The Washington Commanders saw their starting running back Brian Robinson go down with an injury. Robinson was averaging 13.54 points per game throughout this season and sits as the No. 7 RB on the year. Antonio Gibson will likely take over as the lead back, but it will put Chris Rodriguez who is almost not rostered anywhere. He will be an immediate RB1 if Gibson goes down. Regardless, he has gotten 4-7 carries per week in the last three weeks.

Jonathan Mingo, WR, Carolina Panthers

Things in Carolina are a hot mess right now. Last week, they fired their head coach, quarterbacks coach, and running back coaches. As a result, the special team’s coordinator took over as the interim head coach and the offense was headed in a completely different direction. As a result, Jonathan Mingo has had back-to-back 10+ point games including 10 targets last week with six receptions for 69 yards. Those are all season-highs for the rookie out of Ole Miss.

Brevin Jordan, TE, Houston Texans

Brevin Jordan hasn’t been consistent or valuable at all this season for the Texas since the arrival Dalton Schultz. He had his best game of the season last week seeing 75% of the snaps with three receptions on four targets for 64 yards. He finished as a Top-10 tight end averaging 21.33 yards per reception. With the injury to Tank Dell for the season, Jordan should see an even greater number of targets and receptions in the coming weeks.

Kenneth Gainwell, RB, Philadelphia Eagles

There has been no need to roster Kenneth Gainwell this season or any other back in Philadelphia other than DeAndre Swift. In the blowout loss to the 49ers this weekend, Swift was blown up on a hit by 49ers’ lineback Lenior. As a result, he missed the rest of the game and in stepped Gainwell. He didn’t do anything crazy, but if Swift is forced to miss any time, Gainwell would immediately step into FLEX consideration next week against the Cowboys.

Regional restrictions may apply.
