Fantasy Sit ’em Start ’em for Week 7

When you don’t know what to do, trust that decisions can actually just be that easy. Here are the top sit ’em, start ’em decisions for Week 7.

Decisions on who makes your starting lineup every week will either make or break your season. One wrong start leaving double-digit points on the bench could completely alter the trajectory of your season. If you have any of these five players on your roster, the decision should be a little easier. I have separated this list into one start ’em and one sit ’em at each of the major offensive positions. Here are the easy decisions.

Start: Geno Smith, QB, Seahawks

Geno Smith has given you no reason to start him this season despite having one of the best receiving corps in the NFL after adding former Ohio State receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba. He has reached 20 fantasy points just once in five games. However, against the Cardinals this week, he will have his second. I expect him to total 250-plus yards with two or three touchdowns as well.

Sit: Kirk Cousins, QB, Vikings

Kirk Cousins without Justin Jefferson looked very uncomfortable last week against the Bears which should have been an easy passing defense. Cousins threw for just 181 yards on 21 completions and a touchdown totaling just 10.74 points. You can comfortably sit him in any format against a tough 49ers secondary.

Start: Kenneth Walker III, RB, Seahawks

Kenneth Walker III is going to exploit a weak matchup this week. Walker is the RB10 on the season averaging 18.30 points we game and running through defenses no matter how good. Last week, Arizona gave up 158 yards and a touchdown to Kyren Williams on the road. Walker is better than Williams and should exploit this run defense a little bit more.

Sit: Najee Harris, RB, Steelers

Najee Harris is at the point in his season this year where I’m not really starting him until he proves that he can put up some kind of fantasy-relevant numbers. He has only topped 10 fantasy points in one game this season and has only topped 5.50 points twice in five weeks. I don’t expect much to change against the Rams this week.

Start: Rashee Rice, WR, Chiefs

We have been waiting all season for Patrick Mahomes to give any one of his receivers any kind of consistency. Rashee Rice might be the person he chooses to have that consistency with. He has now totaled over 10 fantasy points in four games this season and in back-to-back games in Week 5 and 6 seeing nine total targets with eight catches for 105 yards and a touchdown in two games.

Sit: Calvin Ridley, WR, Jaguars

Calvin Ridley went up against one of the worst passing defenses in the NFL in the Colts last week. Not only could Trevor Lawrence get any kind of consistency going, but most of these throws ended up in the hands of Christian Kirk not Ridley. Despite having 20 points against Buffalo, he had a measly 6.60 points last week against the Colts catching only four passes for 30 yards. That is his third game in six weeks not gaining double-digit points.
