The 5 best games on the Week 10 NFL slate

Fubo News presents the five best games of the Week 10 NFL slate, available to watch live and for free on Fubo this weekend.

With every team now having played at least eight games, the NFL is really into the second half of the 2023 season. As the second half begins, the early image of the playoff picture is starting to shape out.

In a season that has seen a lot of parity and a lot of teams hanging right around the .500 mark, the top-tier teams have begun separating themselves. This week has multiple matchups between teams perceived to be in that tier.

On the other side of things, there have also been a couple of quarterback changes around the league due to either performance or injury. New names are starting to emerge at the game’s most important position. We’ll highlight games that include both storylines as we run through the top five matchups of Week 10.

5. Tennessee Titans (3-5) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-5)

Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET on CBS

On Tuesday, Titans head coach Mike Vrabel announced that rookie second-round pick Will Levis would officially be taking over as the team’s starting quarterback. Levis started on a week-to-week basis the last two weeks with mixed results – shredding the Atlanta Falcons defense in his first start (and first win) two weeks ago before having to turn around on a short week and struggling against the Pittsburgh Steelers last Thursday night. This week, Levis gets a chance to bounce back against one of the worst pass defenses in the league in Tampa.

On the other side is a Buccaneers team that has cooled significantly after a 3-1 start. The Bucs are 0-4 since their bye, although their last three losses have all come in one-score games. Their last four opponents (Lions, Falcons, Bills, Texans) have also been much tougher than their first four (Vikings, Bears, Eagles, Saints) overall. This Sunday will be the Bucs’ easiest game since their bye week, putting everything in place for them to have a bounce-back game at home.

4. New Orleans Saints (5-4) at Minnesota Vikings (5-4)

Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET on FOX

Speaking of quarterback changes, the Vikings had a pretty extreme one this week. After Kirk Cousins tore his Achilles two weeks ago, rookie Jaren Hall was expected to step in as the starter last week. And he did, briefly, before leaving the game due to a concussion. That meant the Vikings had to turn to Josh Dobbs, who they had just acquired from the Arizona Cardinals on Tuesday prior to the NFL trade deadline.

Despite still getting to know his teammates’ names – never mind the playbook – Dobbs let an improbable comeback that resulted in a 31-28 Vikings win over the Falcons, keeping them in the playoff picture. Dobbs himself threw for 158 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions while adding another 66 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

Now with a full week of preparation under his belt, can Dobbs lead the Vikings to a win again against a Saints team that has won two games in a row? Given what he pulled off last week, there’s no reason to doubt Dobbs right now.

3. Houston Texas (4-4) at at Cincinnati Bengals (5-3)

Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET on CBS

Texans second-overall pick C.J. Stroud is starting to look like he’s going to run away with the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Award this year. Stroud put together another eye-catching performance last week, throwing for 265 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions in Houston’s 37-26 win over the Buccaneers. Now at 4-4, first-year head coach DeMeco Ryans has his team in the AFC wild-card picture entering the second half of the season.

This week will be the biggest test yet to see if the Texans are a true playoff threat. They’ll visit the Cincinnati Bengals, who have finally found their rhythm after a 1-3 start to the season. Cincy has won four games in a row, including wins over the 49ers and Bills the last two weeks.

Will the upstart Texans cool them off? This should be a close game, but the Bengals’ experience and home-field advantage will probably end up being too much for a young Texans team to overcome.

2. San Francisco 49ers (5-3) at Jacksonville Jaguars (6-2)

Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET on FOX

After a 5-0 start the 49ers suffered three tough losses in a row against the Browns, Vikings, and Bengals. Those losses came as the team was dealing with significant injuries, but also saw a drop in play from quarterback Brock Purdy. The Niners just had the bye week to get right and get healthy, but return to action with a tough test in the red-hot Jaguars.

Jacksonville, also coming off their bye, has won five games in a row after a 1-2 start. The Jags’ defense in particular has been outstanding, allowing just 16.2 points per game during this winning streak while forcing multiple turnovers in four of the five games.

Will the Jags be able to get the Niners’ offense back into the bad habits that led to that pre-bye winning streak? Or did the Niners fix what they needed to fix during their week off?

1. Cleveland Browns (5-3) at Baltimore Ravens (7-2)

Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET on FOX

Our Game of the Week is a major AFC North battle between the Ravens and Browns. The Ravens come into the week tied for the best record in the AFC and leading the division by two games over the Browns, Bengals, and Steelers, who are all 5-3. The Ravens also already beat the Browns earlier this year – 28-3 in Week 4, giving them a hidden game-in-hand in the standings.

If the Browns want even an outside shot at winning the division, this is a game they’ll need to win. They’ll hope Deshaun Watson makes a difference, as he missed that first matchup with a shoulder injury. In his place, rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson threw three interceptions as Cleveland totaled just 166 yards of total offense.

Meanwhile, the Browns’ defense played relatively well in that game, holding Baltimore to under 300 total yards, 4-of-12 on third down, and forcing a turnover of their own. With a similar effort and a big game from Deshaun Watson, the Browns will have a chance to win this game and really shake things up in the AFC North.

Regional restrictions may apply.
