Top Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Additions For Week 9

The waiver wire is back with plenty of available talent that could improve your fantasy team, bring you out of a hole, and drive your team toward the league’s playoffs. With bye weeks still killing teams, these players could be a one-week fill-in that wins you crucial games. They could also be stashes that could be averaging 10-15 once the playoffs get here. Here are the top waiver wire targets heading into Week 9.

Trey McBride, TE, Arizona Cardinals

Trey McBride’s rise onto the tight end scene was not a fluke. I purposely left him off of this list earlier, as he went from 1 to 3 targets per game to 6 to 10 targets. He exploded last week, having 10 receptions for 95 yards and a touchdown. The young, big man is rostered in 30 percent of leagues, and with not a lot of top tight ends available, he should be rostered everywhere.

Leonard Fournette, RB, Buffalo Bills

After sitting on the free agency list for almost half a season, Leonard Fournette is officially a member of the Buffalo Bills. With Damien Harris on IR and Latavius Murray not panning out, Fournette could easily walk into this situation and be a red zone touchdown hawk. I can see him easily getting 8 to 10 touches a game with 75 percent of them being in the red zone. Last year with the Buccanneers, Fournette finished with over 10 fantasy points in 12 of the 16 weeks. He has low-end FLEX with RB2 appeal, which spells bad news for those who roster James Cook.

Will Levis, QB, Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans made the change. Who once was thought to be a first round draft pick, Will Levis, the Kentucky product fell … far. He was eventually scooped up and drafted by the Titans to sit behind Ryan Tannehill and Malik Willis. It only took eight weeks, but he officially got his shot and he dominated in his debut. He threw for 238 yards with four touchdowns and 11 rushing yards. It was against a weak secondary, and now he will have to be up for a test against Pittsburgh.

Zach Charbonnet, RB, Seattle Seahawks

For those of you who listened to me weeks ago when I said Zach Charbonnet’s time is coming, you just have to be patient. For those who still see him on the waiver wire, go and add him. He has gone from seeing backup work to averaging 5 to 6 yards per carry with 5 to 10 touches per game. Last week he went from 24 percent of the snap share to 59 percent of the snap share, out snapping Ken Walker III. He could easily be a FLEX consideration within the next couple of weeks.
