Pittsburgh, on the other hand, is three points out of a playoff spot with 79 points on a 34-30-11 record. Last month, the Capitals routed the Penguins in a 6-0 win in Pittsburgh.

As for Washington, the Capitals fell in a 6-2 loss to the Sabres in Buffalo on Tuesday night. Capitals goaltender Charlie Lindgren was yanked from the game after allowing six goals on 31 shots, while Dylan Strome scored again for the Caps.
