France came out of the group stage of play as the No. 1 team out of Group D, entering the knockout stage. The team finished 2-1-0 through the three games beating Belgium and Italy and drawing with Iceland.

Its last game was the only one it drew with Iceland. France scored in the first minute with a goal from Melvine Malard. It led 1-0 for 102 minutes before Iceland scored in the last seconds to draw the game even.
France will take on the Netherlands. The Netherlands finished No. 2 in Group C in the group stage of play and its record was the same as France’s at 2-1-0. It beat Switzerland and Portugal and then drew with the No. 1 team Sweden.
Sweden drew the No. 1 seed because of a higher goal differential.
The Netherlands’ last game took down Switzerland 4-1. After a Switzerland own goal and goal in the 49th and 53rd minutes, the game was notched at 1-1. The bombardment of Dutch goals happened in the 84th, 89th, and 95th minutes.
Romée Leuchter scored two of those four goals.
