Then, in the second leg at Azteca Stadium, Club América got a 5-2 win at home over the Revolution. Diego Valdés, Julián Quiñones, Martín, Zendejas and Rodríguez all found the back of the net to put the club from Mexico City through to the semifinals of the tournament.

Meanwhile, Pachuca faced Costa Rican club Herediano in the CONCACAF Champions Cup quarterfinals. The two sides met at Nacional de Costa Rica Stadium in the first leg on April 3, where los Tuzos came away with a 5-0 victory away from home.

Salomón Rondón found the back of the net three times to go along with goals from Alexéi Domínguez and Alán Bautista.

Pachuca then beat Herediano 2-1 in the second leg at Hidalgo Stadium on April 10. Bryan González and Rondón scored to secure the Liga MX side a spot in the semifinals.
