Los Angeles FC lost to Colorado on Saturday by a 2-0 score, ending a run of 18 straight games with a goal dating back to last September. LAFC has scored in its last 31 home MLS matches dating back to August 2020, the longest active streak in MLS.
The loss snapped a four-match unbeaten streak that pushed them to the top of the table in the West.
The visitors enter tonight on a two-game skid and now look to break a larger problem for the second-year club, which is winning away from Q2 Stadium. Austin has just two wins in its last 19 road matches in MLS (three draws and 14 losses) and hasn’t managed a clean sheet in its last 15 away games.
Austin has almost surpassed its win total from a year ago. With six wins in their first 11 games, Austin could conceivably pass their debut season win total of nine by mid-summer.
Diego Fagúndez moved to the top of the MLS assists chart with his seventh of the season on Saturday, setting up Alexander Ring. Fagúndez has recorded more assists in a single MLS season just twice in his career (10 in 2018 and eight in 2017, both with New England).
