On Wednesday night, Fresno State will travel three hours northwest to take on No. 7 Stanford in a mid-week, non-conference softball matchup. The Bulldogs come into Wednesday night’s game with an overall record of 26-11 and a conference record of 6-4, which puts the team in fourth place in the Mountain West standings. The team has won six games in a row with the most recent being a 6-0 shutout over Utah State to secure the series sweep. Serayah Neiss improved to 11-5 in the circle after pitching five innings and striking out seven batters. Sophia Medellin led at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored.

The Cardinal brings a five-game win streak into Wednesday night’s game after defeating Arizona State 1-0 its last time out to bring the team’s overall record to 31-6 and its conference record to 11-1 for a spot at the top of the Pac-12 standings. Kaitlyn Lim was responsible for the only run of the game when she was walked in the second inning. Regan Krause earned the win in the circle with four innings of work in which she struck out five batters to pick up her 13th win of the season.
Stanford has won the last five games against Fresno State with the most recent being a 7-3 victory last season on the road.
