Winners of 12 of their last 13 games, the Houston Astros continue their road swing as they visit Fenway Park tonight to take on the struggling Boston Red Sox. Jake Odorizzi (3-2, 3.38 ERA) will take the mound for the visiting Astros looking for his fourth win in as many starts after starting the year 0-2. Garrett Whitlock (1-1, 2.19 ERA) will get his fifth start for the Red Sox in search of his first win in May.

Tied atop the American League West the Astros have been riding a hot bat with the league-best 14-8 road record and have scored five or more runs in seven straight games and all six games of this road trip.
On Sunday Justin Verlander pitched five scoreless innings and first baseman Yuli Gurriel went 3-for-4 including his second home run of the season in an 8-0 win at Washington. Gurriel is currently on a five-game hitting streak in which he is hitting .476 with ten hits, two doubles, two home runs and four RBIs.
Sitting 12 games behind the first-place New York Yankees, the Sox have begun to claw their way out of the cellar in the AL East winning three of their last five games including taking two out of three from the Texas Rangers over the weekend.
Despite shortstop Xander Bogaerts, third baseman Rafael Devers, and designated hitter J.D. Martinez all hitting over .314, the Sox are 22nd out of 30 teams in runs scored, 28th in home runs, 29th in walks and 25th in on-base percentage.
Today’s game is the first of six between the two teams as the Red Sox make the return trip to Minute Maid Park for a three-game series beginning August 1st.
