17 players enter moving day within 4 shots of the lead atop the crowded leaderboard at the RBC Heritage at Hilton Head Island
Moving day promises to be active at the RBC Heritage at the Harbour Town Golf Links on South Carolina’s Hilton Head Island. Four players share the lead entering Saturday’s third round, including two-time major champion Collin Morikawa, who finished tied for third place at last week’s Masters. Tom Hoge, Sepp Straka and J.T. Poston also stand at 11-under-par through two rounds, with Patrick Rodgers, Ludvig Åberg and Mackenzie Hughes one shot back. Seventeen players are within four shots of the lead. Masters champion Scottie Scheffler lurks in a 10th-place tie after a second-round 65, three shots back, while Rory McIlroy enters the weekend tied for 12th.

The RBC Heritage began in 1969 and became a Signature Event on the PGA Tour last year. Players compete for the $3.6 million winner’s share of the $20 million purse along with 700 points in the FedExCup race. With three victories this year, Scheffler owns a commanding lead in the standings, coming to Hilton Head Island with more than twice the point total of second-place Åberg.
Defending champion Matt Fitzpatrick enters the weekend in a tie for 18th place at six-under-par, shooting a five-under 66 on Friday. Hoge and Xander Schauffele shared the low round of the day on Friday, each carding seven-under 64s.
Davis Love III won this tournament five times in his career, with the last coming in 2003. Hale Irwin and Stewart Cink own three victories, with seven players hoisting the trophy twice.
