In their most recent game, they beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 6-3 on Monday night. That game was tied going into the bottom of the eight when the Mets pushed three runs across to take the lead. On Tuesday, the two teams meet again for the second of three games this week at Citi Field.

The Pirates came into this series after splitting each of their last two. They won two of four against the Philadelphia Phillies over the weekend, and before that split a two-game series against the Detroit Tigers.
Jose Quintana will start this game for the Mets. He’s 1-1 through his first three starts with a 3.45 ERA. Right-hander Jared Jones starts for the Pirates. He’s 1-2 with a 4.00 ERA in three starts, but has a WHIP of just 0.94 in 18 innings.
