The New York Mets will host the Detroit Tigers in the second game of their series on Wednesday night.
Game two of a series between the Mets and Tigers will take place on Wednesday night at Citi Field. The Mets are still in search of their first win of the season as the team has lost four straight games for a rather rough start. On Monday, the Mets lost the series opener to the Tigers in a 5-0 shutout that went to the 10th inning. Starling Marte led the team at the plate, going 2-for-4, but the team wasn’t able to plate him in either case. Francisco Alvarez, Brett Baty and Harrison Bader also recorded hits. Michael Tonkin took the loss for the Mets after pitching for one inning.

The Tigers improved to 4-0 on the season with the win to continue their undefeated run as one of only four teams to still be without a loss. Colt Keith drove in the go-ahead run for the Tigers before Javier Báez plated Parker Meadows with a sac fly. Carson Kelly secured the win for the Tigers with a three-run home run and the Mets didn’t have an answer for Detroit. Jason Foley earned the win for the Tigers after pitching one inning and striking out two batters while giving up no runs.
Casey Mize will get the start in tonight’s game for the Tigers while the Mets will put their trust in Adrian Houser.
