NFL Ticket Prices by Team: A 2023 Guide

NFL ticket prices aren’t cheap. According to Rookie Road, the average price of an NFL ticket is the highest of any North American sports league at $151, with the NBA second at $94. Because teams play just eight or nine home games per year, NFL ticket prices tend to be higher than other leagues because of scarcity. While some courtside seats at NBA games can cost more than the most expensive NFL tickets, it’s rare to find cheap tickets to NFL games, whereas other leagues often have some really cheap deals, with some MLB tickets ending up going for under $10.

NFL Teams With The Most Expensive Ticket Prices

The following 10 teams have the most expensive ticket prices on average according to TicketSmarter.

10. Pittsburgh Steelers

Average ticket price: $392

The Steelers are always a popular draw because of their history, and the hype around second-year quarterback Kenny Pickett has people heading out to Heinz Field to see Pittsburgh play football this fall.

9. New York Jets

Average ticket price: $410

The Jets have seen a sharp rise in their ticket prices ahead of the 2023 season for one major reason: Aaron Rodgers. With the team looking like contenders, people are flocking to the Meadowlands to see what should be the NYC area’s best NFL team.

8. San Francisco 49ers

Average ticket price: $410

The 49ers are one of the few teams whose ticket prices have dropped this year. Part of that is likely due to the quarterback situationā€”Brock Purdy is a good player, but he doesn’t have the star upside that had people buying up tickets ahead of the 2022 season to see Trey Lance.

7. Buffalo Bills

Average ticket price: $419

Buffalo might be one of the smaller cities in the NFL, but it’s proximity to Canada and the talent of its football team have people wanting to watch some Bills football. The Josh Allen-led team has the seventh-highest average ticket price.

6. Miami Dolphins

Average ticket price: $442

The Dolphins have some uncertainty when it comes to the health of their starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, but one thing that is certain: people like coming to Dolphins games. Miami’s another destination city, which helps the team sell tickets.

5. Dallas Cowboys

Average ticket price: $497

The Cowboys are one of the world’s biggest brands and most popular sports teams, and that helps fill up AT&T Stadium. It doesn’t hurt that they play in one of the nation’s largest metro areas. Even without competing for Super Bowl titles, Cowboys fans continue to show up for their team.

4. Philadelphia Eagles

Average ticket price: $523

The Eagles made it all the way to the Super Bowl last year, and the excitement around the team is reflected in the team’s ticket prices. People want to see Jalen Hurts and the rest of this talented Philly team play football.

3. New England Patriots

Average ticket price: $551

While the days of Tom Brady leading the Patriots to titles are over, the Patriots still have a very fervent fanbase and arguably the greatest head coach in league history. The team’s proximity to not only Boston but also the Providence metro area also increases the number of people able to make it out to games, which in turn makes it harder to get tickets.

2. Las Vegas Raiders

Average ticket price: $573

The Raiders might not be a great football team, but they play in a new stadium in a destination city, which means their tickets end up costing a good amount.

1. Kansas City Chiefs

Average ticket price: $577

The defending Super Bowl champions have the highest ticket prices, which isn’t a surprise. People want to see a team led by Patrick Mahomes. People want to see the champions. When those two things are the same thing, it’s going to lead to a lot of demand.

NFL Teams With The Cheapest Ticket Prices

The following 10 teams have the cheapest ticket prices on average.

10. Baltimore Ravens

Average Ticket Price: $273

It’s a little surprising to see perennial playoff contenders Baltimore in the bottom 10 in average ticket price. Proximity to Washington D.C., where another NFL team plays, might be part of the issue there, though, as the team has a more limited fan area because the Commanders are an older franchise.

9. Indianapolis Colts

Average Ticket Price: $253

While Colts ticket prices are up $53 due to the arrival of rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson, the team still has the ninth-lowest average ticket price in the NFL entering the 2023 season.

8. Tennessee Titans

Average Ticket Price: $247

Derrick Henry might be can’t-miss television, but the Titans are among the bottom 10 teams in ticket price. In fact, the entire AFC South is in the bottom 10, which speaks to the overall issues in the division.

7. Jacksonville Jaguars

Average Ticket Price: $242

Trevor Lawrence might be a future star quarterback, but the Jaguars just aren’t a huge draw. Playing in a state with two other teams likely plays a role in poor ticket sales, as does the fact that the team plays in a struggling AFC South.

6. New Orleans Saints

Average Ticket Price: $237

As will be a common theme in these rankings, tickets to see NFC South teams are in low demand this year, outside of the Panthers, who have rookie quarterback Bryce Young. The other three teams, including the Saints, are lacking in star power.

5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Average Ticket Price: $234

With Tom Brady retired now, the Buccaneers will turn to Baker Mayfield at quarterback. That’s led to a sharp decrease in demand for tickets to see the Bucs take the field.

4. Cleveland Browns

Average Ticket Price: $228

Since returning to the NFL in 1999, the Browns have struggled. There’s some upside moving forward, but the ticket prices have yet to reflect that upside, likely because Browns fans have gotten used to their team being a disappointment.

3. Arizona Cardinals

Average Ticket Price: $220

With Kyler Murray set to miss a large chunk of the 2023 season and star wide receiver Deandre Hopkins now in Tennessee, fans don’t see much reason to spend on the Cardinals, whose average ticket price is down $48 for 2023.

2. Houston Texans

Average Ticket Price: $216

The Texans have struggled for the past few years. Adding rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud will likely have more fans heading to NRG Stadium this year, but there’s still not a lot of hype around this team.

1. Atlanta Falcons

Average Ticket Price: $196

The only team with an average ticket price under $200 are the Atlanta Falcons. With no real long-term answer at quarterback on the roster and in a division without a lot of marquee teams that would create hype for divisional matchups, a ticket to see the Falcons is reasonably affordable.
