Aaron Nola, Philadelphia’s ace, will take the mound in the first inning as the starting pitcher tonight. He is 3-1 in 2024 with a 3.16 ERA and 26 strikeouts over 31.1 innings pitched. He went 8.0 innings in his last start beating the Chicago White Sox 8-2 allowing two earned runs with seven strikeouts on a four-hit performance.
San Deigo will take the field at its home ballpark with Joe Musgrove on the mound in the first of the series. The right-hander is 3-2 this season with a 5.74 ERA and 23 strikeouts over 31.1 innings. He went 7.0 innings in his last start allowing three earned runs on five hits with three strikeouts in a 6-3 win over the Toronto Blue Jays.
